A permanent record authority for cannabis history.

Waffles World Records was created to organise fragmented claims, resolve factual disputes through transparent evidence, and build a trusted worldwide reference for every credible cannabis-related record.

Why the registry exists

Cannabis records should not be decided by the loudest headline.

Important achievements are scattered across press releases, event pages, archived articles, social posts, scientific papers, institutional histories, and copied summaries. Measurements conflict, categories drift, former holders disappear from the story, and the same promotional claim can be repeated until it looks independently verified.

Waffles World Records brings those claims into one structured public system. Each entry identifies the holder or subject, exact achievement, location, date, record family, evidence grade, publication status, current-holder confidence, audit finding, source trail, and a visible caveat whenever the evidence has limits.

The purpose is practical: create one place where organisers, holders, journalists, researchers, brands, and challengers can compare the same facts and understand why a claim was accepted, narrowed, reclassified, preserved as historic, or rejected.

The problem we are solving

From disputed claims to a shared factual record.

The registry is designed around the recurring failures that make cannabis record claims difficult to trust.

01

Claims are fragmented

There has been no single specialist archive connecting historic records, present holders, world firsts, original sources, and later challengers across the global cannabis industry.

02

Disputes lack a common standard

Different parties often use different measurements, category definitions, time periods, or evidence thresholds. We separate those questions and publish the reasoning behind the result.

03

Authority must be earned

Our long-term objective is to become the recognised specialist world authority and official reference point for cannabis-related records. That authority is earned through consistent rules, public evidence, corrections, independence, and accountable decisions—not through self-declaration.

What “settling a dispute” means here

A transparent evidence decision—not a legal judgment.

When two claims conflict, Waffles World Records compares category definitions, original measurements, chronology, source provenance, independent corroboration, and later challengers. The registry can publish a reasoned record decision, request more evidence, narrow the category, preserve both claims in sequence, or leave the holder question open.

This process is intended to resolve factual record disagreements for the registry and public record. It is not a court, arbitration service, regulator, or substitute for legal proceedings.

Operating principles

How the concept is kept credible

Scope

Global only

The main registry excludes city, state, national, event-only, and competition-only achievements unless the published category is genuinely worldwide.

Wording

Titles follow evidence

Recognized, World First, Documented, Institutional Claim, Historic, and Holder Check communicate different positions and must not be treated as interchangeable.

Sources

Provenance before link count

Copied reports do not become independent evidence because they appear on several websites. The review follows the information back to its original source.

History

Corrections stay visible

Former holders, corrected measurements, later challengers, and category changes remain part of the chronology instead of being silently erased.

What the registry does

Research, classify, recognise, publish, and correct.

  • Define the proposed category and worldwide comparison.
  • Review original sources, measurements, dates, and provenance.
  • Search for earlier benchmarks and later challengers.
  • Assign evidence grade, status, confidence, and caveat separately.
  • Publish official WWR registry decisions under the project’s own methodology.
  • Reopen decisions when stronger evidence or a qualified challenger appears.
What it does not do

No legal permission, product approval, or government authority.

  • It does not legalise or authorise an attempt.
  • It does not certify product safety, potency, or suitability for consumption.
  • It is not a government, regulator, laboratory, court, insurer, or medical provider.
  • It does not guarantee that no undocumented predecessor exists.
  • It is independent from Guinness World Records and other external authorities.
  • It does not sell cannabis or arrange cannabis transactions.
